About this tile

The Intense series is an Italian made porcelain. Inspired by sedimentary limestone, this series faithfully reproduces the granules and micro-inclusions of fossils that are typical of this stone. The 24 × 48 size includes a Trait texture that recreates the effect of chiseled stone through a processing technique that uses engraving to give the entire surface a more decorative look, yet can still be used on floors.

The Mixed mesh mount items will be a blend of Matte and Trait finish pieces. Because this material is a porcelain product, minimal maintenance is required. This series is suitable for residential and commercial application.

Intense features PROTECT® technology, which makes it easy to sanitize and eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria. Besides being beautiful and remarkably resistant, PROTECT® surfaces have been crafted with Microban®, a proven antimicrobial product protection technology developed by the world leader in the sector. Integrated during the manufacturing stage, Microban® helps fight the growth of degrading bacteria on the surface of the tile for its expected lifetime. The result is a surface that stays cleaner and fresher in between cleans. It is also inherently more durable and unalterable by climate conditions.

Technical Details

When mixing sizes within a series, shade, texture and calibration differences should be expected. Piece to piece variation in shade or color are inherent in all fired clay products; therefore, it is recommended to mix tiles from several boxes at a time during installation to achieve the best range of color. For proper bonding, LFT/LHT mortar for large format and heavy tiles should be used when installing tiles with a dimensional length greater than 15 inches, and rectangular shape and plank tile, per industry standards. Proper thinset coverage is also necessary, and in some cases, back buttering of tile may be required.
