While maintaining recommended levels Of heat and humidity is important for all hardwood it is imperative for species like hickory and acacia, which react more severely to environmental changes. For hickory and acacia flooring, relative humidity must be maintained at 30-50% at all times, as specified by the NWFA If these conditions cannot met and maintained, alternate flooring options should considered.
